Program Description

Art Students will have professional guidance from a certified art teacher along with assistance from advanced placement art students from the high school.  At the conclusion of the week, students will showcase their art work through an outdoor display (weather permitting) where parents will be invited to attend.  Classes meet daily from 1PM – 2:30PM.  The cost of the program includes materials.

Music Students (Orchestra/Chorus) will play new music and develop new skills.  Participants will work with music teachers from the Baldwin Performing Arts dept. and students from the HS.  In the last week of the program, students will have a presentation for family and friends!  Instrumental and Choral classes for each registrant will be scheduled three times per week between the hours of 9AM and 12Noon.  Students will have two small-group lessons and one large-ensemble rehearsal per week.

Students will NOT be in attendance for the entire 9AM to 12Noon time period.  Individual student schedules will be provided prior to the start of the program.  Each student will be required to provide their own instrument which can be a personally owned instrument, a school rental, or outside vendor rental.

Theater Students will have guidance from professional staff in the areas of dance, drama and vocal techniques.  Students will learn theater games and exercises and will present a culminating production at the end of the program.  Classes meet daily from 9AM – 12 Noon.  Students participating in the music program will be excused for their lesson and can return upon completion of their lesson.  Culminating presentation for parents on the final day of the program.
