Founded in 1968, the “Atlantic Winds” has grown and pasted through many phases. Its musicians are outstanding artists whose love of all kinds of music has brought them together to form the finest group of its kind on Long Island.
Conductor/Music Director Joel Levy brings both his musical talent to the “Atlantic Winds” and a programming scheme designed to appeal to a wide variety of audience tastes. His “pop: programs include such composers as Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, John Philip Sousa and many others. Music from Broadway, the movies and popular recording artists are included.
The “Atlantic Winds” play in major parks in the Metropolitan N.Y. area as well as private clubs, industrail functions and charity fund raisers.
In addition to the quality of performances upon which we have built our reputation, we offer a unique advantage in programming. Prior to your program we will consult with you as to the type of selections you wish to hear. You may select composers or specific songs and we will make every effort to honor your results. Perhaps you would like music from a Broadway show or a specific artist such as Frank Sinatra or Judy Garland. We will oblige whenever possible. Few, if any other bands offer this flexibility and freedom of choice.
